- National Security Agency Student and Internship Programs for undergraduate and graduate students who are U.S. citizens
- National Research Council Research Associate Programs for graduate, postdoctoral, and senior researchers, mostly for U.S. citizens
- Argonne National Laboratory's Undergraduate and Graduate Programs
- Argonne National Laboratory Givens Associates for doctoral students in numerical and computational mathematics for summer research at ANL
- Argonne National Laboratory J. H. Wilkinson Fellowship in Scientific Computing for postdoctoral work at ANL
- John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Summer Program needs instructors (graduate students) and teaching assistants (undergraduate students)
- Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program for undergraduates, graduating seniors, and graduate students pursuing STEM careers; mostly for us citizens with some exceptions; applications generally open August 1st for the following year
- Congressional Budget Office offers internships for graduate students who are U.S. citizens and permanent residents, and also hires applied math, statistics, and data science graduates with data analysis experience for entry-level positions
